This post explains what you can do with Camtasia Studio for free.

There are many free screen recorders out there. However, almost none are as versatile and feature-packed as Camtasia Studio.

Many shy away from Camtasia Studio because it’s a paid screen recording-cum-video editing program that’s costly.

They wonder if there’s a free version of the program’s software. In other words, is there a lite version of this premium screen recording program? Is there a functional version that can be used without purchasing the full version?

If there is, you may ask, ‘What can you do with Camtasia for free?”

The answer is there’s no lite version of the Camtasia Studio. There’s only one version of the program. And it’s the full-featured version.

That doesn’t mean you have to purchase the full program to be able to use it. Camtasia allows you to try the full version for free.

Techsmith, the Camtasia Studio developer, used to allow a 30-day trial of the program. That has since been cut down to 3 days now.

How to Get Camtasia Studio Free Trial

To get the Camtasia Studio free trial, head to this download link. Over there, you’ll find download buttons for the Windows and Mac versions.

You’ll get to download the latest versions of Camtasia Studio for both platforms.

Know This Before You Download

Before you download, here are a few things you must remember.

As mentioned earlier, you can use the full version of the program. However, when you export your project, it will come out with a watermark.

You can remove the watermark by signing up for a full version. You’re also allowed to use it on a single computer.

Unlike some software programs, you can download and use Camtasia Studio without providing your credit card details.

Systems Requirements

Before downloading the software, check whether your computer meets the specifications to run Camtasia Studio.

You have very little to worry about if you have a newer computer.

The most important thing is to have a fast processor and ample RAM (at least 8GB).

Don’t worry if you don’t meet the requirements. Depending on your computer use (no multitasking), you can still run the program without meeting them.

Before Downloading Camtasia Studio

Before downloading Camtasia Studio, you would need to create an account first. You may use your email or Google or Apple accounts.

You may use the same account for other Techsmith products like Snagit, Camtasia, Audiate, and Screencast.

Can You Use the Software Longer than 3 Days?

Sometimes, you would need more time to familiarize yourself with the program. Especially if you’re using a screen recorder program for the first time.

The good news is that Techsmith allows you to use the program beyond three days. You can enjoy this offer by turning on the limited access mode.

After three days, you’ll be notified that the trial period has expired.

You’ll be prompted to buy the program or enter the software key. Skip these options and continue with limited access.

When you choose this option, the usage period will be 15 days. Your exported video will be watermarked, though.

There are many channels making money on YouTube and creating software tutorials. Some channels focus entirely on this approach, dispensing the need to shoot video or show one’s face,

The faceless YouTube channels rely on Camtasia Studio to create videos.
