Let it be known that there are two types of videos that can be inserted in a Powerpoint slide.
You can include a video from a video file stored in your local drive or a video from the web.
YouTube Video Limitations
Most of us would want to include a YouTube video in our PowerPoint presentation. Simply because of the choices available on the world’s largest video sharing platform. We’ll certainly find a video or two that will illustrate a point in our presentations.
Before we proceed, let it be known that there are limitations to including a YouTube video in a Powerpoint presentation.
Internet Connection and PowerPoint Version
First of all, you must be connected to the Internet for the embedded YouTube video to play in a PowerPoint slide.
Secondly, you can’t use the insert video feature for Powerpoint 2007 and below. You must use PowerPoint 2010 and above.
Ensure that you satisfy the above two requirements before proceeding.
How to Embed an Unlisted YouTube Video in PowerPoint

Either you’re the owner of the video or you have received the link from the owner or elsewhere.
So, you must have the link ready for the YouTube video before you can embed the video in PowerPoint.
Get the Unlisted Video Link
Let’s assume that you have created the unlisted video and have not shared the link with anyone.
As a first step, you go to the Youtube video and get the link. Maybe you created the video specifically to be included in a PowerPoint presentation and have set it as Unlisted.
In that case, you’ll have to get the link by logging into your YouTube account.
