Magix Video Editing Course

How to Upload Sharper Videos to Youtube

There are a lot of great movies out there at Youtube, but the quality of some leaves much to be desired. If you don't want your movies to suffer the same fate, then you'd have to employ the correct encoder settings.

My Safety explains the optimum settings in  this video. Click on the play button to view

Mr Safety recommends Sony Vegas 5 . If you don't have it, you could  try your luck with other programs.

Basically, the output settings are video format: wmv, video size: 320x240 video bitrate: 1Mbps, audio 128kbps.

The issue here is not all  video editing programs have a video bitrate setting of 1Mbps. I checked out two programs  - Windows Movie Maker and Magix Movie Edit Pro under wmv export.

You'll notice under Win Movie Maker you could save between 768kbps and 1500kbps. There isn't the 1000kbps Mr Safety recommends.

As for Magix Edit Pro the setting is of a maximum size of 500kbps, just half of what Mr Safety recommends.

But then again not all video editors have  wmv export settings and if you do have one then you'll have to experiment with it a little. Still the best bet could be Windows Movie maker. Just push your luck and try at 1.5M video bitrate and see what happens.

Don't forget: Mr Safety recommends 10% more brightness and 20% more contrast than your original footage.
