Tubemaster Video Downloader
Tubemaster downloads video clips from such sites as Youtube, Metacafe and Stage 6 among others.
The layout of the interface gives the impression that the software performs multi downloads. However, it downloads only one file at a time and puts the rest on queue.
I had a problem cutting and pasting a Stage 6 video url and when the download button is pressed, it returned an error message. It looks like Tube master doesn't work with URLs for full length movies.
However, when I used the Tube search function a directory is listen and you just had to click on the desired clip and press the download button.
Video output can be selected.
Also the codecs could be set before downloading.
The queued clip does not download automatically. After you've completed one download, you must press the download button and wait for the Save dialog box to pop up.
This freeware is highly recommended especially when it comes to downloading Stage 6 clips though they seem unable to download full length movies. It could be that Stage 6 has disabled the download of such movies.
Similarly don't expect to download whatever videos you find over the file sharing sites. Just as I was finishing writing this, I tried to download a metacafe video. The popup menu to save the video came up, but when I clicked Save nothing happened. Thinking that something was wrong with the software, I tried a youtube video and it worked fine.
