Magix Video Editing Course Saving an Audio Track as a File You may want to save a certain portion of the original audio track be it a speech or announcement or interview to be used randomly in the edited video.
If so, you could save the desired portion of the audio track before deleting the original soundtrack. Click on the portion of the audio you want to save. Set the range by placing the red Start and End markers.
Here its not necessary for you to ungroup first or mute the video because the command is to save only the audio portion of the clip. Go to File and click Export Movie. Choose Audio as Wave.
Give the file a name and save the wav file ideally in the same location as your other clips so that you could easily drag it to the workspace.

Select Range only. The program will only save the portion between the Start and End markers. If you select All, even the muted soundtrack will be rendered and you'll hear stretches of silence before you could listen to the track you selected. And that's not what you want. I can then located my saved audio clip in the media pool under the directory I have designated.
You can click on it once and listen to the audio preview to determine whether you've made the right selection. You can also drag it to the workspace and use it during the editing process.
