Magix Video Editing Course

Adding Transitions to Your Video Clips

Your video would normally do fine with simple cuts. But sometimes you can spice up a production by using transitions which once were only available to productions houses and broadcast stations.

In Magix Edit Pro, transitions could easily be added especially in the Storyboard mode.

Click the AB box in between the film boxes where you want to place the transition (see above).

You'll have this box pop up.

For my project I'll choose wave.

I click on wave.

The AB box is blackened. This shows that a transition has been added.

You can also see in the monitor view the video dissolving into a wave when the marker moves to the next clip.

Reminder: Don't use too many transitions in your video. They could be distracting. Also they'll increase rendering time when you're outputting your video.

You can also use the media pool to select transitions. Here you could preview the transitions before using them.
