Blaze Media Pro v.7 Review Goodbye to Switching Programs Say you have a WMV (Windows Media Video) clip and your video editor does not support it. What would you do? Surely would go to another program which converts WMV to AVI or MPG. What if you have an OGG audio file and you want to use it for your video? You would have to look for an audio converter to convert it to wav or mp3 formats which most editors accept. Say you want to record audio from a cassette and use it as soundtrack for your video, you would have to go to another software. The list goes on.
If you have been facing such problems during editing, your troubles could well come to an end with the help of Blaze Media Pro. Import Formats The software comes with a versatile audio/video converter, editor, and even CD/DVD authoring program. In the video editor mode you could import AVI, MPG and so on but not MOV files.
Blaze Media Pro also handles MP4 conversion If you have a MOV file, you would then have to go to the video converter to convert it to a AVI /MPG file first. You can't also import a video clip from a VCD in the dat format. You would have to convert it to a MPG file before you could import it into the video editor. Video Capture Although the video editor is one of the main features, surprisingly it does not offer DV capture. So you would have to capture your video elsewhere before importing it into the editor. This is not really a drawback because if you're running Windows XP, you could undertake DV capture through the bundled Windows Moviemaker. However, Blaze Media Pro does recognise screen capture program like Camtasia Studio. Audio Converter Flash Movie Conversion However, the coolest feature in the editor seems to be the video file conversion to flash movies in swf and flv formats. This would be a boon for those who would want to stream their videos over the Internet. The Video Editor
Cutting Your Clips You could only import one clip at a time into the video editor. What if you've multiple clips and want to edit and join them? You would have to cut them individually, save them and then assemble them with the video constructor. Cutting is pretty straight forward with Media Blaze Pro You mark start and end points and then you choose crop selection. You can then save the selection you've cut in the uncompressed original format. This is a boon for a beginner who's looking for an easy way to cut his videos. Effects For a basic video editor, Blaze Media Pro has an impressive range of effects. You can choose from aging, Hologram, lens, lightning, mosaic, rain, wave and scratches. I applied scratches and hologram to the video below.
Suitable For Beginners Overall, this program would to budget conscious beginners who are looking for an all-in-one package that's also a penny-saver. For USS50 it sure does promise an exciting array of features equivalent to a dozen of programs put together and some of which could not be found even in full-fledged video editors.
